VACANCY - Post of Science TV Series
Presenter
The EU-funded TV Project XJENZA-TV,
which is coordinated by the University of Malta, is inviting applications
for the post of TV Presenter.
The ideal candidates for this
temporary post would be presentable undergraduate or post-graduate students
in Science or Engineering courses. Female and male applicants must feel
comfortable in front of a TV camera and be outgoing. Students in Engineering/IT
courses and in Biological/Chemical sciences are preferred.
The TV series will be shot in
Maltese and broadcast on E22 and across Europe over the internet. The
selected candidates may therefore be asked to sign a privacy/information
agreement. If under 18 years of age the selected candidate will need
parents’ permission.
Applicants are to submit a head
shot together with a letter consisting of a 5 line paragraph in Maltese
indicating why they would like to participate in this project to the
Project Manager on xjenza-tv@um.edu.mt or call 2340 2795. Applicants
must show a good command of the Maltese language. Applicants should
also indicate if they have been involved in undergraduate/graduate research.
This may be chosen for a section of the programme showing Maltese students’
involvement in cutting edge/interesting science.
The selected candidate will have
the opportunity to film abroad for a three week period and must therefore
be available for this short period abroad. Token remuneration is available
for the part-time presenters (for local filming) and all travel costs
will be paid.
Applications will close on
the 31st August, 2007.
